The Info Unboxing Series is a build-in-public video show. We are building four small info businesses from scratch, side by side: an online course, a newsletter, a coaching offer and a membership. Every episode shows the real decisions, the AI prompts we used, the mistakes we made and what we would do differently. No highlight reels, no “look at my dashboard” moments. Just the work, one box at a time.
What This Series Is (and Isn’t)
Most “how I built my info business” videos start after the success. This series starts at zero. You will see us pick an expertise, test whether anyone cares, build a minimum version, write the sales page, send the first emails and handle the first support questions. Some experiments will work. Some will flop. Both are useful.
๐ The Course
A focused, outcome-driven mini course built with AI-assisted outlining and scripting. Follow along with Course Creation.
๐ฐ The Newsletter
A weekly niche newsletter that starts free and tests a paid tier later. Pairs with Newsletters.
๐ค The Coaching Offer
A small-group coaching program with a clear scope and honest boundaries. See Coaching and Consulting.
๐ The Membership
A community membership built around ongoing value, not a one-time download. See Memberships and Communities.
Who Should Watch
This series is for experts, professionals, creators and side-hustlers who know something valuable and want to see what packaging it actually looks like. You don’t need to build four businesses. Most viewers pick the one model that fits them and follow those episodes closely, then skim the rest for ideas.
- Complete beginners who want to see every step instead of reading about it.
- Stalled creators with a half-built course or a quiet newsletter who need momentum.
- Coaches and consultants curious about adding a scalable product next to client work.
- AI-curious experts who want to see where AI genuinely helps and where it gets in the way.
The Episodes
Here is the full season plan. Each episode stands on its own, but they build on each other if you watch in order. Open the outline under any episode to see exactly what it covers.
Episode 1: Opening the Box
We introduce the four businesses, explain why we chose these models and set the rules for the season. You will see how we mapped our own skills to possible offers and why we decided to build all four at once instead of picking just one.
Episode outline
- The four info business models and how they differ
- Our skills inventory and what each one could become
- Ground rules: no fake scarcity, no invented testimonials, real numbers only when we have them
- How to follow along with the Info Roadmap
Episode 2: Finding the Expertise Worth Selling
Not everything you know is worth packaging. We run an expertise audit, sort ideas by demand and personal energy, and use AI to pressure-test each one. By the end, each business has a working audience and promise.
Episode outline
- The “what do people already ask me?” exercise
- Ranking ideas by demand, credibility and enjoyment
- AI prompts for audience research and pain-point mapping
- Companion page: Find Your Expertise
Episode 3: Designing Four Offers
We turn four rough ideas into four clear offers with a named outcome, a format and a scope. You will see us use the Offer Builder live and argue about what to cut.
Episode outline
- Outcome, audience, format: the three-part offer statement
- Scoping each offer so it can actually ship
- Walking through the Offer Builder tool
- Why “smaller and finished” beats “bigger and someday”
Episode 4: Validating Before We Build
We try to get real signals before writing a single lesson. That means waitlists, conversations, pre-sale tests and a lot of listening. Some ideas pass, one gets reshaped completely.
Episode outline
- Cheap validation methods: calls, polls, waitlists, pre-orders
- What counts as a real signal versus polite interest
- How we handled refunds for a pre-sale we decided to change
- Read along: How to Validate a Course Idea
Episode 5: Setting Up the AI Creator Stack
We pick the tools for all four businesses and connect them. You will see which AI assistants we use for outlining, scripting, editing and support, and where we deliberately keep a human in the loop.
Episode outline
- Choosing a writing assistant, a video editor and an automation tool
- Where AI speeds things up and where it creates rework
- Fact-checking and voice-editing AI drafts
- Full stack breakdown on AI Info Stack and Resources
Episode 6: Building the Minimum Course
We outline, script and record the first version of the course in a compressed sprint. The goal is a course that gets a learner to one result, not an encyclopedia.
Episode outline
- Using the Course Outline Generator as a starting point
- Scripting lessons with AI, then rewriting in our own voice
- Simple recording setups that look and sound good enough
- Uploading and structuring lessons on a course platform
Episode 7: Launching the Newsletter
We publish the first issues, set up the welcome sequence and build a lead magnet to start the list. You will see our editorial calendar and the template we use every week.
Episode outline
- Choosing a newsletter platform and setting up consent properly
- The welcome sequence we wrote (and rewrote)
- Creating a lead magnet with the Lead Magnet Generator
- Planning issues with the Content Calendar Generator
Episode 8: Opening Coaching Spots
We define who the coaching offer is for, who it is not for, and how we price it. We also cover scope boundaries, intake questions and the disclaimers we added because some client questions drift into areas that need licensed professionals.
Episode outline
- Writing a clear “who this is for” and “who this is not for”
- Pricing with the Coaching Rate Calculator
- Staying within your competence and referring out when needed
- Booking, onboarding and session notes workflow
Episode 9: Writing the Sales Pages
Four offers, four sales pages. We draft with AI, then edit hard for clarity and honesty. You will see the before-and-after versions and why we removed several lines that sounded good but promised too much.
Episode outline
- The sales page structure we use for every offer
- Testing headlines with the Headline Analyzer
- Handling proof when you do not have testimonials yet
- Refund policy and FAQ sections that build trust
Episode 10: Opening the Membership Doors
We launch the membership to a small founding group and design the first month of content and community rituals. The focus is on retention from day one, not just sign-ups.
Episode outline
- Founding member offer without fake urgency
- Monthly content rhythm and community prompts
- Modeling churn and lifetime value with the Membership Calculator
- Choosing a community platform
Episode 11: The First Launch Debrief
We run a launch across all four offers and then pull it apart. What worked, what fell flat, which emails got replies and which got ignored. We share our process for turning feedback into the next version.
Episode outline
- Our launch timeline, email by email
- What we measured and why
- Collecting real testimonials the right way
- Companion guide: Launch Playbook
Episode 12: Going Evergreen and Opening the Next Box
We turn the launch into an always-on funnel, automate the repetitive parts and decide which of the four businesses gets more attention next season. You will also see what we would do differently if we started again tomorrow.
Episode outline
- Building an evergreen funnel with honest deadlines
- Automations we kept and automations we removed
- Upsells, retention and cross-selling between offers
- Season two planning and viewer questions
